New Wilderness Adventures (NWA) is a Christian Men's ministry. Our home base is in Shelby, North Carolina with Outposts in Dallas, Texas and Grand Lake, Colorado.  We use adventure to win, train, and wake men up to the freedom and life that Christ offers us, leading men into their destiny as sons of The Father.    

Our beginnings: In 1999 Mark Folk (NWA founder) sensed a calling to full time ministry. Three years later he founded New Wilderness Adventures, a ministry formed out his passion for adventure and a calling to be a minister to men.  Today, a core band of men continue to go after the hearts of men, going to where men are, one man at a time. 

New Wilderness Adventures mission is  reach men for Christ and lead them into lives of adventure as His followers.  We accomplish this by journeying with men into authentic Christianity using outdoor adventure, mentoring, guiding, speaking, applied adventures etc.... or whatever it takes for men to have those Burning Bush moments (life changing encounters with God)!  NWA orients, teaches and releases men to bear God's image as He intended and to be restored through a relationship with Jesus Christ.  Simply, we are guides fulfilling the Great Commission and inviting men to launch into The Great Adventure.

We are not men who use to be like you, or fix people like you.  We are men just like you, passionately following Jesus Christ, and learning to live as sons of The Father..  Although scattered around the US, we are a tight team that chooses to live life together.  We approach this ministry with authenticity and we strive to live in the freedom and life God restored in us.

We lead 4-6 Adventures a year all with masculine journey (Wild at Heart themes).   Some of the adventures we have done: Alaska Adventure, Minnesota Boundary Waters Adventure, Grand Canyon, NC & CO Fly Fishing Adventure, Hiking Adventure, Scuba Adventure, Hunting Adventure, Water Sports Adventure, Father/Son Adventure, Father/Daughter Adventure, Horseback Camping Adventure.

We lead 2-4 Ministry Events a year - (think Wild at Heart Boot Camp) Such as: Heroes Boot Camp, L3 Retreat (think Advanced but with a NWA twist), Prison Heroes Boot Camp, Marriage Conference, Guide Training, Mission Adventures, Monthly Bonfires, men’s gatherings and groups.

We also:  lead Prison Ministry, Mentor men, and provide coaching.
