Can we call our retreat "Wild at
Heart"?
It is our desire that the Ransomed Heart message (as
contained in John Eldredge books*, on our web site,
and spoken at our conferences) gets to as many
people as possible by as many people as possible.
But our specific desire is that you deliver this
message as yourself, not as a member of the Ransomed
Heart team. We need to keep clear what is a Ransomed
Heart event and what is another’s. Therefore, others
may not use any of our event names or slogans (i.e.
Boot Camp, Platoon Leaders Training, Captivating),
graphics, or texts from our events or web-site. Book
titles* are registered with the publisher and cannot
be used. Proper use would be something like, “Brave
Heart Retreat using material from John Eldredge's
book, Wild at Heart, or or “Cultivating The Feminine
Heart using material from Ransomed Heart’s
Captivating Retreat.”
Can I copy material from your
book/workbook/CD/video or website for use in my
small group/church/promotion material? (You get the
point...)
To paraphrase our publisher on the inside cover of
our books, "No, unless you're using a brief quote
and giving the credit where the credit's due." Pages
and chapters do NOT count as brief.
We can't authorize permission. You'll need to
contact Thomas Nelson, our book publisher. We also
don't give permission to copy the audio or video in
part or in whole. Lastly, we know it's easy to copy
and paste parts of our website to your computer, but
the same rules apply as
above.
Can I use movie clips in my presentations?
The question of whether you can use movie clips in
any situation is a legal one. We can't answer that
question for you, so you will have to seek your own
legal advice. We recommend our legal counsel: Yates
and Yates at 1-714-480-4000; Chris Ferebee at
chrisferebee@yates-yates.com. Another thing you
might consider doing is checking with Christian
Video Licensing International. They can be contacted
at 1-888-771-CVLI.
