Concerning counseling...
Although neither John nor Ransomed Heart Ministries
offer counseling or four stream ministry, we long to
handle your heart and your life well. It feels so
small, so inadequate, to try and explain our story
in reply. But, it might help to know that we are a
tiny ministry and have no means to offer individual
counseling or guidance and direction. This is the
most distressing ... and the most difficult ... part
of our ministry . We wish we could sit down, face to
face, and spend time attending to the questions of
your deep heart. The reality is we can’t. Our
ministry venues are our books, retreats, and
audio/video resources. We do not have a
ministry/counseling center. Yet, we are aware that
our message often stirs up issues, wounds, desires,
and obstacles that Christ wants to address in a way
that brings greater life.
It may also help you to understand that we see our
mission as message-centered ... to speak the message
God has given us and to direct His loved ones back
to Him--the healer and deliverer (Is. 61:1-3). And
so, with love and humility, we find we must turn
your heart towards our God and yours and trust that
He will bring all you need for your life and
restoration. John did his best to try and lay out
the path towards wholeness/deep restoration/healing
in Waking the Dead. We really think you would find
it helpful along with the Guidebook that he and
Craig wrote for this book. In lieu of walking
one-on-one with your own heart, we offer this as a
means toward genuine wholeness/maturity/healing.
We do have some contacts to offer, but of course,
not every counselor/ministry works from the
perspective that John lays out in his books. It
might be good to get a couple names from these
referral sources and ask them what they think about
John’s writing. It will help you choose the kind of
person you want to work with. Without a selective
referral base of our own we cannot “endorse”
counselors. We can only say they are believers. We
do have an place on our website that allies of
Ransomed Heart post their services. We do not
personally review them, so we cannot endorse them,
but you may find some good leads on our
Allies page.

Again, ultimately God must provide what you need,
and our experience is that God does provide someone
to fight for our heart when we ask Him to. This is
our prayer: That God would raise up a fellow warrior
with a tender heart to help fight for yours. That He
would bring this person or a community of people to
you and meet you exactly where you are.
